On 24 April 2020, the villages outside of Moshi Town, Tanzania were devastated when heavy rain burst the banks of the river causing widespread flooding. Hundreds of people have lost all their possessions, and the poorest who live in fragile huts, are homeless, as their shelters have been washed away in the rain.
Kijana Kwanza has been on the ground surveying the damage and sourcing emergency supplies to support families, replace essential possessions and help them rebuild. We are now focusing our efforts on 116 families or 581 people who are in particular crisis.
We are urgently appealing for funds to provide:
Mattresses & Bedding: £25/$30
School Uniform/Bag & Books: £50/$60
Cooker, Utensils & Food Aid: £100/$120
Building Repair Grant: £500/$600
