Virtual Safari

Kijana Kwanza invites you to attend a 10-day virtual safari of Serengeti National Park, in aid for orphaned and poor children in Tanzania.

The safari will take place from Wednesday 21 April to Friday 30 April 2020. Click here to register.

Laurent and Halima, 2 sponsored students of Kijana Kwanza, will be your guide on this virtual safari of the Serengeti. Over 10 days, they will share pictures and video clips of the diverse wildlife they come across during their trip, which you will receive in your inbox every evening.

The virtual safari costs £16/$22 but is refundable if you decide to fundraise for orphaned children over the course of the 10 days.

How can I fundraise?

It’s completely up to you – you can select any activity to go alongside the virtual safari.

We’ve prepared a few ideas: (some boring, some a little more interesting):

  • Walk, cycle or run your chosen distance every day for 10 days
  • Give up your favourite food – the daily doughnut, meat/chicken/fish or that essential cup of tea or coffee.
  • Dress up as a different character from the Lion King every day and take pictures to share on social media with your friends.
  • Experience what it’s like to live on just £1 per day for 10 days, similar to many children in Tanzania.
  • The truly lazy option – forward your fundraising link to family and friends and just ask them to donate in exchange for a birthday present next year (don’t worry, they’ll forget).

You can set up a fundraising page here.
